The water that makes up the majority of the lotion used in our lotion is infused with useful plant ingredients to create our unique "soak herb water". The plants chosen for Clear Moist Lotion's herbal water are yomogi, which has long been popular as a medicinal herb with anti-inflammatory and other properties. Fuji, and soaking 100% mugwort leaves harvested in early spring from our own farm in the pure underground water pumped up from 200 m below the surface of Mt. The mugwort soaking water contains high levels of tannins, catechins, and other polyphenols, which have been shown to moisturize, tighten the skin, and prevent rough skin.
Extracts from the leaves and stems of indigo are included as skin conditioning ingredients. Indigo is widely known as a raw material for dyes, but it is also a plant that has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties and has been used as a herbal medicine and in Chinese medicine. It is rich in polyphenols and minerals, and its antioxidant power is more than four times that of blueberries. In addition to its moisturizing effect on the stratum corneum, indigo extract prevents moisture evaporation from the skin, which tends to have a disrupted barrier function, to keep it healthy. Also included is inositol, a moisturizing ingredient derived from rice bran. A member of the vitamin B group, inositol helps maintain the balance between moisture and oil in the skin and prevents rough skin caused by dryness.
Skin that is rough and rough may have thickened keratin due to excessive sebum secretion. Extracts containing fruit acids, such as citrus fruits, are included as ingredients to care for keratin. Fruit acids are a generic term for alpha hydroxy acids (AHA) such as lactic acid and glycolic acid, which have the effect of softening keratin.
